Past Jobs
Teaching is my life and I've always wanted to become a teacher.
I graduated as a Spanish teacher but at the time there were no vacancies, but I also loved teaching young children so I started working as a Primary School teacher.
I believe in lifelong education, so I've been doing other courses along the years to keep myself adjourned and motivated in teaching.
eLearning Peripatetic Teacher
After sitting for a Diploma in IT in Primary Education, I started working as an eLearning Peripatetic Teacher. I used to go to different schools, given demonstration lessons to help teachers adapt in integrating ICT in their teaching. I also helped in project work being carried out by the schools and gave teacher training sessions as requested.
eLearning Support Teacher
A couple of years later I changed my role to a Support teacher, which gave me the opportunity of organizing more teacher training courses, including INSET courses for various year group teachers. I also created resources for teachers to use.
- ICT Inset 07 - Promoting Reading Through ICT in Year 3 (Reading Development Library 1 & 2)
- Innovative Pedagogies Inset 08 - Using ICT as an Effective and Motivating Tool for Learning (Print Shop Essentials, Microsoft Movie Maker, Stop Motion Pro)
eTwinning Coordinator
Whilst being an eLearning Support teacher, I was given the role of acting as the eTwinning Coordinator for Malta. eTwinning is a platform for schools and teachers all over Europe to communicate and collaborate together. The Central Support Service for eTwinning are part of the European Commission and every country had the National Support Service. My job was to draw an action plan for the coming year including how the budget allotted to Malta would be spent. This had to include teacher training, promotion for the use of eTwinning, Bi-lateral or Multi-lateral Seminars with other countries hosted in Malta or selecting teachers to attend seminars or conferences hosted in Europe. Another task was to write a detailed final report at the end of the year including all accounting done throughout the year.
